The AOR Approach

AOR reconciled the complete vehicle and equipment schedules by VIN, serial number, ownership status, use, and valuation. Mobile equipment was moved to the appropriate coverage form, duplicate charges were removed, and owned, leased, and rented equipment protections were coordinated. We paired the technical cleanup with a detailed underwriting narrative covering driver controls, preventive maintenance, operator training, jobsite procedures, and recent loss improvements, then consolidated the major lines with a construction-oriented carrier.

The Challenge

The contractor operated a complex fleet of service vehicles, trailers, pumps, generators, bypass systems, and heavy mobile equipment. Its insurance program was split among multiple carriers, creating duplicated physical damage coverage, inconsistent deductibles, and uncertainty over whether certain units belonged on Commercial Auto or Inland Marine. Leased and rented equipment protections were limited, and the program did not fully address the contractor's pollution and installation exposures.

The Result

The contractor's annual insurance cost was reduced from approximately $685,000 to $445,000, a $240,000 reduction, or 35%. The new structure broadened equipment, transit, installation, and pollution protection; reduced the likelihood of coverage disputes; and gave the company a scalable platform for adding vehicles, equipment, and larger projects as it continued to grow.
